Innovative Services NW
Capital Campaign

Our new home, the Mary Firstenburg Family Center
has been painted and paved!

With the recent announcement of a $200,000 grant from the Community Foundation for SW Washington and $98,833 from the HEDCO Foundation, the A Future for All capital campaign reaches the $6.9 million mark towards a goal of $7.3 million needed to build a new facility adjacent to the Westfield Vancouver Mall.

Innovative Services NW has served the Southwest Washington community for 45 years, and has grown from serving 15 per month to more than 750 adults, children and families per week since its opening in 1963. In response to community need, Innovative Services NW program growth has averaged 20% each year for the past 6 years. This tremendous growth of programs and services has precipitated the need for more space. Therefore, after many years of effective and efficient operations, Innovative Services NW is seizing the opportunity to leverage philanthropic investment to provide the organization with its own facility. This will combine agencies and services, more efficiently, under one roof, facilitate continued growth, and free up $180,000 annually in lease costs for programs and services.

The A Future for All Campaign has generated $6.9 million in support, including $1,000,000 from Ed and Mary Firstenburg, $870,00 from Rick Bowler and Marilee Thompson, $300,000 respectively from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation and the Meyer Memorial Trust, $250,000 from Al and Sandee Kirkwood, the Hallador Legacy Fund and the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, $200,000 from the Community Foundation for SW Washington and $1.9 million from the taxpayers of Washington State

Completion of the A Future for All capital campaign will result in a 36,000 square foot building. RSV Construction Services is heading up the building project. Construction began in summer 2007 with occupancy to be in June 2008.
