Gloria CampbellGloria Campbell is the recipient of the Development Caring Heart Award. Gloria has been a member of the Innovative Services NW Development Advisory Board for the past five years. She plays a vital role on the Board, having served as the Chair for the silent auction, making gift baskets for the Caring Heart Awards, helping at the Care Cup golf tournament and always selflessly giving her time and talents to help the organization with fundraising and sponsorship needs. As a grandparent to a child with special needs, she experienced firsthand the needs of the developmentally disabled community. She was trained as a juvenile respite caregiver in order to help with her granddaughter, Tatum. Gloria works at West Coast Bank as Sr. Loan Assistant, where she has received the Volunteerism Award and Shining Star Award. In addition to her dedication to Innovative Services NW, Gloria volunteers in the community in a variety of other ways. She developed “General’s Closet” at Marshall Elementary, a clothes closet for underprivileged youth, which was subsequently adopted by the Vancouver School District. Also for the benefit of Vancouver’s children in need, Gloria has lent her time to annual school supply drives for Hough and Fruit Valley elementary schools, as well as for Open Ministries. Each holiday season, she and a co-worker coordinate a Christmas Family adoption, which gives families food boxes and gifts. On top of all this, Gloria is a long-time donator to the American Red Cross; she was told recently that, over the past 10 years, she has personally given four gallons of blood! Besides donating her own blood, she coordinates two blood drives each year at work and a “Donor Day” at the Red Cross Center. It is clear that Gloria has a heart of compassion for all people in need, no matter their physical or mental capacity, their social or economic position. During her well-deserved free time, Gloria enjoys family activities, camping trips, searching local thrift stores for "treasures," and reading. Gloria credits her family and friends with helping her make her projects successful, as she calls upon them often. She says, “Beware if I approach you!”
